This is probably my favorite house on the beach. It evokes memories of times and places gone by - maybe the Outer Banks of North Carolina for example.
If I ever build (or stated more accurately: have someone else build) another deck, I hope to have the outward thrusting railing/seats like the house on the left. It looks great and serves the dual purpose of combining seating with perimeter safety railings. Of course, it's probably not in compliance with today's building code in the government's endless effort to protect us from ourselves.
This place looks like some kind of childhood nightmare monster marching to the sea on its stilt legs. Arrrrgh!
It amazes me how much the little curlicues on the porch dress up this house. It really makes it look special.
The old look was from a different time and is/was part of the appeal and ambiance of this beach. But such is progress.
Lots of places here fly the American flag. The flag is a simple expression that says, "I like and believe in this beautiful place, warts and all." I'll leave it at that and resist the urge to make some snarky comment about our current Congress.
