Boston Public Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

The George Washington statue stands vigil just inside the entrance to the Boston Public Garden, founded in 1837.

The gardeners and groundkeepers always manage to have something beautiful in bloom from early spring until the end of the season.

Including this rose garden.

The tourists are back - the swan boats enjoyed lots of rider demand for a cruise around the lagoon. These vessels a pedal-powered by the operator sitting behind the swan so it is a very quiet experience for both the riders and the watchers.

A group of painters gathered beside the swan boat dock to do some painting.

The balloon man waits for his next customer.

On the way back to the car park, I made a detour along Congress Ave to enjoy the architecture of one of my favorite Boston buildings.

Fall - Boston Public Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

I was very fortunate to have a peak day for fall color be on a weekend and it also be a nice day. This was, without a doubt, one of the prettiest days I have ever enjoyed being out and about with a camera in Boston.

Some folks picked a bright sunny spot to just hang out and picnic......

....and some picked a sun-dappled spot suitable for thoughtful reading or studying.

There were hundreds and hundreds of people out and about in the Public Garden and next door Boston Common.

A stunningly beautiful day in Boston - a jewel among world-class cities.
