Photo Session, Scusset Beach, Sandwich, Massachusetts, USA

It was a perfect summer evening in southeast Massachusetts. Warm temperature, light breeze, clear sky, almost sunset.  I joined the Plymouth Digital Photographers Club for an outing at Scusset Beach with a beautiful family who posed as models for a photo session.

The photographers generated quite a bit of interest from other beach goers.  They wondered who the famous subjects are that attracted so many paparazzi.  Well, they aren't paparazzi but rather just regular folk enjoying their art/craft/hobby/avocation on this perfect summer evening at the beach.

A great time was had by all!

Sagamore Hill, Scusset Beach State Reservation, Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts, USA

Sagamore Hill was once a Native American Council gathering place, and in later years a World War II military installation, and now - it is a beautiful natural setting of field, forest, marsh, and swamp with a walking trail throughout.

Perhaps not as dramatic as the southern live oaks in South Carolina but the eastern white oaks have their own gnarled  charm.

It is still chilly outside but, the unmistakable signs of spring are at hand - green is appearing increasingly, migrating birds are returning and filling the air with their songs.

Bare branches dance in a spring breeze in anticipation of new leaves.

Even a dandelion blooms in early April - though it still drops to freezing at night.

The view at the top of the "hill" includes the distant Cape Cod Bay.

Scusset Beach State Park Jetty, Sandwich, Massachusetts, USA

Jogging on the jetty.  Scusset Beach jetty begins at the Cape Cod Bay side of the canal and extends about 1500 feet into the bay.  The state park is popular for camping and beach activities and offers the full range of amenities for day use also.  Coastal bluffs of Sagamore/Cedarville are visible in the distance.
