One of the things I like when viewing blogs from around the world is getting a sense of place.  I try to create the same in my posts for my readers.  These images are in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Every picture needs a hook - something to draw the viewer into the frame - like the fence line along this path....... 

....or this squiggly tree silhouetted against the sunny bright green lawn area......

..... or the big rock beside the lane..............

.....or the sandy path stretching off into the sunlight.......

....or the cherry tomato resting on an outstretched hand. What?

I am always surprised to see a scene like this in Plymouth.  For some reason, it just seems to be somewhere else - where else I don't know but, it just doesn't seem like Plymouth.

It is rare that rabbits don't scamper across the road anytime when I am either walking or driving down this lane - I like that. A place where rabbits are a common sight is a nice place to be - except when they eat the garden goodies.

The same country lane about twelve years ago - but during January.  (This is a digital photo of a 4x6 paper photo - thus rather poor quality). What a difference a season makes.

In my local wanderings, I stumbled upon Bramhall's Country Store in the village of Chiltonville.  They offer frappes, smoothies, lobsters, and/or farm fresh veggies - all in their respective seasons - but never lobster frappes.

Here's the view looking the other direction.

I find small rural lanes and roads to be restful on the eye and mind. This is one of my favorite unpaved country roads in southeast Massachusetts.

And this is one of my favorite paved country roads in southeast Massachusetts. It is unfortunate that the highway folks felt a need to paint a divider line on this one.  I could photoshop it out?

There - I feel better. If reality doesn't suit me I can sometimes alter it - I also straightened the left vertical edge of the barn - ah, the magic of post-processing.

Summer, fall, winter, and spring viewed from the same vantage point on a beautiful country lane near White Horse Beach. And yes, I should have included snow in the winter picture.  Maybe this coming winter I'll remember to do that - if I haven't wimped out and escaped to a warmer climate before snow falls from the sky.

A quiet country lane less than half a mile from the beach. The days are getting noticeably shorter, the shadows longer. Some folks say that this year's Fall colors weren't very pretty.

From my perspective, I would disagree.
