Old Sandwich Road, Pine Hills, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA
I took a trip down memory lane and reviewed all the many images I posted on this blog in 2016. Here are a few of them from the month of January 2016 that I especially like. I like them either as a beautiful and/or creative image or because they are evocative of some special place or experience in my life. It's the modern internet version of going through my own scrapbook/photo album for last year.
I intend to publish a separate post for each of the twelve months of the year.
Yesterday and today - Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The Old South Meeting House at center above served as the organizing spot in December 1773 as the colonists prepared for the Boston Tea Party. It still stands proudly as the city has grown up around what was then, the largest building in Boston.
A rock and roller making music at Copley Plaza, Boston, Massachusetts.
Rocks and rollers at Manomet Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Both a memory of past and an anticipation of future spring, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
A red umbrella and a fresh snowfall, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
First light after a storm, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Priscilla Beach Theatre with a surreal glow, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
A cold sunroom, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The builders, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts. These men with their brains, hands, tools, and wood crafted this beautiful house. We take it for granted - building a house - but it is really an amazing accomplishment to turn pieces of trees into this. I enjoyed spending much of the winter watching their progress outdoors in the unrelenting cold on this oceanside bluff jobsite.
Building a dream, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
A storm ends and the clouds break, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The morning after a storm, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Snow, rain, and a wet floor - the beauty and simplicity of wood, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Jumping for joy, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Lines and angles, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts.
A chain along the quay wall at Fan Pier, Boston, Massachusetts.
