Plymouth Waterfront, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

The tide is low revealing the many support legs of the Frazier State Pier at the Plymouth waterfront.

Nearby in the harbor, a clam wind means a calm sea - for a few moments anyway. The distant flat land is Long Beach and the rising landmass at right is the eastern edge of Rocky Hill/Manomet Hill.

A lobster artwork can be used as a three o'clock shadow "sundial" at this time of year.

Up on nearby Cole's Hill, the statue of Native American leader Massasoit stands in silhouette  overlooking the harbor area. Massasoit was the Wampanoag tribe leader who worked with and promoted diplomacy with the English colonists in the 1620's. He signed a treaty of friendship with the English which assured peace at the time.
