Sunset at Plymouth Harbor, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

I lucked out this evening. I was downtown for an outdoor concert on the waterfront in Plymouth. It had been a perfect summer day and as the sun lowered in the western sky, the light breeze from the south was enough to align every boat tethered to a buoy to rotate perfectly perpendicular to the sun's position. This made the hulls shine in brilliance. (Click on an image for a higher resolution version if your device supports that action).

It is 78 degrees F outside, clear, and low humidity.  This is my personal perfect weather condition.

A lone kayaker?

Nope, kayaking through the harbor was popular this evening.

As the sun lowered behind the trees and buildings, this lone patch of light magically illuminated the bow of this docked boat.

Just a few minutes later as the sun set, I am sitting outside immediately adjacent to the harbor  under the clear warm summer sky, listening to live music. Later, a blazing orange moon rose over the harbor and Rocky Hill area of Manomet.

I was not inclined this evening to get any up close and personal images of the band. Nevertheless, I was struck by a comment made at the microphone by the band. They perform about 200 shows a year. That's about four every week. Imagine that as a way to make a living: hundreds of nights on the road, driving from venue to venue, unloading, setting up, performing, breaking down, repeat. It makes the freshness and liveness of their music all the more sweet knowing that.

They were the Adam Ezra Group performing at the Project Arts Summer Concert Series and they were so fine! Right here in "America's Hometown" - Plymouth.
