It was a dramatic sky on a perfect New England summer evening - time for a sunset beach walk at low tide with Amy.
She was a good sport. I've been publishing quite a few blogs about Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) lately such that I look at the rest of the world in the context of chorus girl choreography and jazz hands.
I didn't even know what jazz hands were a few years ago. Wikipedia says: "Jazz hands in performance dance is the extension of a performer's hands with palms toward the audience and fingers splayed (this position is also referred to as webbing)."
This is my favorite! When is the next open audition at PBT anyway?
Ah yes, summer in New England...........silhouettes on the shore.
Please forgive my poor alliteration with the witty and fun 1960's tune made popular by Herman's Hermits, "Silhouettes on the Shade." Those were the days. I was always struck by the clever lyrics:
"Took a walk and passed your house late last night
All the shades were pulled and drawn way down tight
From within, the dim light cast two silhouettes on the shade
Oh, what a lovely couple they made
All the shades were pulled and drawn way down tight
From within, the dim light cast two silhouettes on the shade
Oh, what a lovely couple they made
Put his arms around your waist, held you tight
Kisses I could almost taste in the night
Wondered why I'm not the guy who's silhouette's on the shade
I couldn't hide the tears in my eyes
Kisses I could almost taste in the night
Wondered why I'm not the guy who's silhouette's on the shade
I couldn't hide the tears in my eyes
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Lost control and rang your bell I was sore
Let me in, or else I'll beat down your door
When two strangers who have been two silhouettes on the shade
Said, to my shock, "you're on the wrong block."
Let me in, or else I'll beat down your door
When two strangers who have been two silhouettes on the shade
Said, to my shock, "you're on the wrong block."
Rushed out to your house with wings on my feet
Loved you like I'd never loved you, my sweet
Vowed that you and I would be two silhouettes on the shade
All of our days, two silhouettes on the shade
Loved you like I'd never loved you, my sweet
Vowed that you and I would be two silhouettes on the shade
All of our days, two silhouettes on the shade
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah"
