Acting, or perhaps more accurately, storytelling, is as old as the history of humankind with every culture around the world having used storytelling to both entertain and to pass along cultural history long before the written word. I was fortunate to recently attend a sold out performance of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown - the Musical," held in the black box theatre - one of three performance stages in the Priscilla Beach Theatre complex. Charlie Brown and Snoopy are shown above.
If you live nearby and haven't been to Priscilla Beach Theatre recently, I encourage you to go. Local community support helps ensure an opportunity for those with a dream of performing. The presence of an active theatre enriches our community overall..
The Theatre's website has a calendar link at bottom right if you would like to view the entire season's plan. Support the theatre with your attendance.
Since the 1930's, the Priscilla Beach Theatre has brightened the lives of aspiring actors, actresses, and the audiences.
I am neither a critic, a musician, nor a performer - I am just a regular guy who enjoys live performing art - I was particularly enchanted by the lovely voice of the woman playing the character of Snoopy.
The audience was most appreciative by offering a standing ovation to the ensemble cast.
Bob and Sandy Malone, owners of the Priscilla Beach Theatre, have injected new life into the theatre complex and between the summer outdoor theatre tent performances, the indoor black box theatre, and the ongoing restoration of the grand Barn Theatre, the future is indeed bright for this icon of the performing arts.
