Photographs and/or Photo Blogs

Why are we so captivated by still photographic images? Perhaps it's the simple ability to make time stand still that a photo represents. Maybe we want to preserve a moment from our youth, an image of a distant relation, a long dreamed of destination, or, just something that we like.

What makes someone else's photos desirable to look at? For me, the real test of enjoying someone else's photo is whether it creates the thoughts in my mind that I wish I had made that photo, stood in that spot and observed the world around me at that moment, listened to the sounds, smelled the smells, seen the sights, felt the feelings - that's the transporting magic of a well crafted photo image. In a world and life where time stops for no one, indeed the pace seems to be accelerating ever more, still photography should always have an attraction for it's simple ability to make time stand still to savor the moment.
