A Fall Walk, Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary, Mass Audubon, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA
A broad trail (former farm road) provides the entrance onto this remarkable preserved space.
The colors are popping out all over and the leaf carpeting increasing daily.
Many folks were out enjoying this perfect fall day in nature. As I looked down on this scene of the Beaver Dam Brook watercourse, it struck me that this is sort of the "Grand Canyon of Manomet." (Okay that's a stretch but, you get the idea).
A reflection along the Beaver Dam Brook watershed.
An old farm track serves as one of the longer walking paths through the sanctuary. Many of the trails like this one are flat and suitable for various capabilities of mobility.
The Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary is, "A vast expanse of cold-water streams, ponds, forest, and woodlands, Tidmarsh is a 481-plus acre landscape permanently protected and open for all to enjoy. Once a working cranberry farm, this landscape underwent the largest freshwater ecological restoration ever completed in the Northeast." (Source: Mass Audubon).
Come out and support this natural wonderland and the Mass Audubon organization! Here's a link to my blog post when they dedicated and opened the property a year ago.
