Located on the Centro side of town at the river's edge on the north side of the Triana bridge (Puente de Isabel II), is a stylish market, eatery, and shops: The Mercado Lonja del Barranco. On Sunday afternoon, which was Andalusia Day, I wandered by the adjacent plaza where I could hear music playing. Andalusia Day marks the anniversary of a 1980 event at which the majority of voters supported a referendum for Andalusia to become an autonomous region in Spain.
These and other dancers were in the plaza entertaining the crowd for free from a temporary stage.
It was a perfect opportunity to finally capture swirling skirts in motion!
It has been a challenge to get the right combination of lighting conditions and shutter speed to capture the motion and blur in the dresses but not in the arms and faces nor other elements in the scene.
I just love seeing the joyful and expressive performers here in Seville. Olé!
I think you got it. Beautiful.
