The annual spring ritual has begun. It's that time of the year to rake up all the sticks, twigs, and branches that the winter storms left in the yard. I am lucky, only small limbs, branches, and twigs fell over the winter months.
This homeowner in nearby Sandwich was both lucky and unlucky - lucky because this huge tree missed the house when it fell, but unlucky to lose such a grand beauty that has stood for generations - and it will take more than a garden rake to clean it up.
This is all that remains of the pile of snow that the plows pushed to the end of the road.
The faintest hint of green is starting to appear in the foliage.
Really, you can't see the hint of green? Yeah, I know, I can't either, it's just wishful thinking.
A budding inter-species spring romance perhaps?
