What's wrong with this picture? It's the yellow fire hydrant with the blue top. What's up with that? Why not the regular old red fire hydrant? Is this change for the sake of change? Well, it's not. The color of the hydrant body and cap communicate information to the firefighters. In this situation, the yellow body indicates it's a private hydrant connected to a public water main and the blue cap indicates the quality of water flow rate. How about that?
