Priscilla Beach Theatre, now in their 78th year, is the oldest barn theatre still in operation in the United States. The ongoing restoration work by Owners and Guardians Bob and Sandy Malone will be completed in time for next summer's performance season - "Fiddler on the Roof," and "Chicago" are already scheduled. My most recent blog post on the restoration is at this link, or, you can type "Priscilla Beach" in the search box in the right column of this blog.
Though much has been completed, much still remains to be done by the project general contractor Kelleher Fine Builders, Inc. of Kingston, Massachusetts. Most obvious new changes since my last post are the following: the main entrance and box office have been framed-in, trimmed, and roofed, the restrooms have been rough framed-in, the stone revetment on the northeast side is being constructed, plumbing installation work continues, and only one small section of final roofing material needs to be applied over the main stage.
The southeast and northeast sides.
The northwest and northeast sides.
The southwest side.
The hallway inside the new restroom complex.
Inside one of the restrooms, note the steel supports (that I discussed in a previous post) completely hidden within the interior wall framing.
Work on the revetment on the northeast side.
New plumbing.
PBT offers two productions this fall in the Geronimo Black Box Theatre - "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" in October and "Into the Woods, Jr." in November. Box office phone number is 508-224-4888 for info. Support your local community theatre - wherever you happen to live.
