Beatles Fest, Spire Center for the Performing Arts, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

On February 9th, 1964, "the Beatles" first appeared on the Ed Sullivan television show in the United States. Now, more than 50 years later, my generation and many others still celebrate and enjoy the music these four Englishmen brought to the world.

The recent Beatles Fest at the Spire Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Plymouth brought three bands to the stage to perform various parts of the Beatles' catalog of music for a mostly Beatles-era audience like myself.

We were not disappointed. The first band pictured above was "The Silver Hammers." (This image does not include the entire group).

Next up was the local ever popular band, "3rd Left." They are not just a Beatles tribute band but play a wide range of musical styles and formats. Tonight though, it was only Beatles.

The headliner was "Studio Two," a look-alike, sound-alike, talk-alike, play-alike four member band playing the same instruments and parts as the originals. If I closed my eyes during some of the tunes, it sounded like the Beatles were right there with me in the room.

I particularly enjoy the Spire stage setting with that former chapel ambiance. And having purchased a front row center seat for the show was pretty cool, too.

A New England based group, "Studio Two," enjoys widespread success and a full calendar on the road with their Beatles tribute performances.

Note the "Beatle boots."

Another great live performance in downtown Plymouth at the Spire Center for the Performing Arts! If you haven't been - go - if you have - go again - support live performing arts in our community.
