Men's Senior Baseball League, Medford, Massachusetts, USA

One of the most iconic sounds of youth is the solid, perfect impact of a baseball on a wood bat that sends the ball airborne a great distance.  There is nothing like that sound.  Very few kids will make it into adulthood as full-time baseball players but, there are many who can and do continue to play just because of  the sheer pleasure of the game.  In more than 3000 communities across the nation the Men's Senior Baseball League provides that outlet for good players of all ages to continue to play.

These men of the Medford Mets and Qunicy Braves were serious about the game but still having fun. It was all about the game - not the winning or the money or the fame.

It's a great way for a spectator to spend a few hours for free on a summer day watching good baseball up close.

There was no roar of the crowd but, the few spectators who came were rewarded with a good game (there wasn't any shade closer to the field for this man).

  1. I think Doug Flutie is playing for the Reading Bulldogs. I should go see a game.
