Downtown, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

I don't mean to disparage tourists especially since I am often one myself but, it sure is nice when the season ends and things slow down, traffic is less, and I can be a tourist in my own town.  In the image above, Plymouth Rock is under the structure at left and the vessel Mayflower II is at dock on the right.

If you have a little imagination, the dark windows of these boats in Plymouth Harbor look like eye slits of a monster poking his head out of the water - okay, maybe not.

Burial Hill is in downtown Plymouth and has been in use since the 1600's.

The final resting place for many former colonists overlooks downtown, Plymouth Harbor, and Cape Cod Bay in the distance. The marker of Major William Bradford is notable.

It is clear that Mr. Bradford's leadership was continuously and frequently sought.  Imagine having that type of leader today that we keep wanting back again and again.

Burial Hill is both a final resting place and a popular tourist destination in downtown Plymouth.
