On October 11th, at 5:39pm the full moon rose in the east over the Charles River and downtown Boston. At 6:09pm the sun set in the west. These photos were taken near the intersection of Massachusetts Ave and Memorial Drive in Cambridge between 6:30 - 7:30pm. Shooting in the dark with a point and shoot camera was surprisingly successful (with a mini-tripod).
My Sony point and shoot camera does not have a manual setting option so it is not possible to increase the shutter speed longer than the pre-programmed two seconds maximum. I did find another program option however, that let me increase the ISO to 3200 at 1/4 second, f/3.5, to capture the following photo. I'm surprised it's not more grainy (granier?).
