An angry, wind-swept White Horse Beach in Fall.

A benefit of storms- lots of new sand deposited to walk on during low tide.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Mt. Auburn Cemetery is located in Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts, and is the first "garden cemetery" in the United States founded in 1831.  This view looks out over the cemetery in the foreground, the Harvard University campus in the mid-distance and the skyline of downtown Boston in the far-distance. These photos were taken on a perfect New England Autumn day on an outing with Amy's photo club.

Perched close to the people walking below was a juvenile red-tailed hawk who calls the cemetery his home having been born there in the Spring.

Bartlett Pond, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

A summer sunrise on Bartlett Pond in southeastern Massachusetts. Fed by Beaver Dam Brook and freshwater springs, the pond empties into Cape Cod Bay on the horizon. Part of Amy's flower garden is in the foreground. The pond hosts a wide variety of wildlife including osprey, heron, swan, geese, hummingbird, and hundreds of other bird species, bass, sunfish, pike, snapping turtle, muskrat, bullfrog, chipmunk, not to mention the human wildlife.

Lowell, Massachusetts, USA

Boardinghouse Park is the scene of a Summer Music Series. Summer of 2010 featured such greats as Taj Mahal Trio, Jimmy Cliff, Joan Armatrading, Indigo Girls, Herbie Hancock, Jonathan Edwards, B-52's, and many others. Notice the many graying heads of the audience. Just like mine.

Behind the stage is the still standing brick structure of the Boott Mills from the great textile era of the 19th and early 20th century industrial Massachusetts. The mill is reborn today as lofts/condos and apartments on the Merrimack River.
