Remarkable for its in-town setting, Fall Creek cuts through the Cornell University campus in downtown Ithaca and flows over Ithaca Falls before reaching Cayuga Lake. (For scale, a human is in the water at left and, a human is standing at the lower right base of the falls).
It is a popular spot for visitors, students, and locals.
A few splashes of fall color still remained during my visit.
The falls are a short, easy walk from the parking area.
The falls serve as a popular background for group photographs.
Note to self - always have the short person stand on the rock rather than the tall one.
The view downstream from the falls toward Cayuga Lake. Ithaca Falls is one of many waterfalls in close proximity to the town of Ithaca and in the Finger Lakes region.
