I like lighthouses - many people do. The Nobska Light in Woods Hole on Cape Cod opened in 1829.
There is a nice small beach nearby and on a clear day, the island of Martha's Vineyard is visible about 3.5 miles across the sound.
The human at the base gives a good scale to measure the approximately 40 feet tall tower. But note how this angle of view makes the lighthouse and adjacent regular house appear to be tilted toward the center of this image. This perspective distortion..........
.... can be addressed in post processing but, the correction makes the structures appear shorter and more squat looking. It's always something.
What is it about lighthouses? I think people are drawn to their solitary beauty and the romance of drama on the high seas.
Nobska Light is an easy location to visit - there is a small free parking lot close by.
