A Broadway Musical Review II, Outdoor Pavilion, Priscilla Beach Theatre, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Recently, Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) hosted the first Broadway Musical Review and it was such a resounding success (at this link) that PBT owners and guardians, Bob and Sandy Malone, hosted another one a week later!

Both sold-out events were produced by Allie Seibold. Allie is also a multi-talented performer, a member of PBT's 2016 summer stock troupe, and has appeared in both "A Chorus Line" and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," on the PBT Barn Stage this summer.

These sold-out musical reviews were both held in the PBT Outdoor Pavilion on beautiful summer evenings in Priscilla Beach.

At the risk of being redundant, I have been particularly impressed with this extraordinarily talented group of young performers. Watching each other perform, they clearly demonstrate an appreciation of and respect for their peers. Their love of the craft seems to know no bounds.

Paul Newman, Pat Carroll, Dan Blocker, Jean Seberg, Kitty Winn, Robert MacNeil, Peter Gallagher, Rob Reiner, Estelle Parson, and Jennifer Coolidge are some of their predecessors whose voices and footfalls still echo through the barn from the days they learned the craft of performing in the early years of their careers at Priscilla Beach Theatre. PBT is in its 80th year now - I wonder which of these young people will be a household name in a few more years?

Whether they find fame and fortune in the performing arts in their future, I think they will always look back fondly on their days at PBT in the summer of 2016. Together, they created a magical experience for themselves and the audiences who just couldn't resist jumping to their feet for standing ovation after standing ovation to acknowledge the skill and art of these young men and women.

Producer Allie Seibold had asked each performer to share their most wonderful memory of the summer together and even called on owner Bob Malone to come up onstage and share his.

It was another great evening at PBT thanks to the talents of this remarkable group of young actors and actresses!

This may be the end of the Broadway Musical Review series for this summer but, it is not the end of live theatre at PBT. Coming in September on the Barn Stage will be "Arsenic and Old Lace," and in October, "First Date."

The Barn will go dark for the winter months (it is after all, a 141-year-old-barn) and gear up in the spring for the first production of the 2017 Summer Season.

Here's the lineup for the 2017 summer performance season on the Barn Stage:

"The Marvelous Wonderettes" in May,

"Nunsense" in June,

"West Side Story" in July,

"The Producers" in August,

"All Shook Up" in September, and

"Little House of Horrors" in October.

Season tickets will go on sale December 1st, to be followed by individual sales. Order early, these past two summer performance seasons have proved exceptionally popular with almost all shows sold out!
