A Turkey in the Neighborhood, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

I looked out a second floor window and there he was sitting on the sunroom roof. I figure a day will always be a good one if it starts with a turkey sitting on the roof.

He lives here, too, not as a pet but, as a wild creature who seems to like this spot on the planet. He roams freely - the yard, the woods, the land, sometimes scrounging dropped seed at the base of the bird feeder, or picking bugs out of the grass, and bobbing his head as he walks. He doesn't seem to like me though, he runs/flies away fast when he sees me.

And just down the street otherwise, the young kids are back in school and getting ready for fall. I note from the small sign that this school was built the same year as me.

Nice place to park one's car - a private residence on the road to Manomet Point.

The curve of the bay at low tide at White Horse Beach.

A lone walker on White Horse Beach. It is fascinating to watch the changes as fall unfolds - one of the benefits of living in a four-season area.
