The Plymouth Digital Photographers Club recently celebrated their 8th anniversary at Plymouth Beach. There were some great photo ops including bubbles that brought kids running like moths to a flame.

They were so excited and got so close that the bubbles barely had time to form before the kids popped them.

Releasing the bubbles higher off the ground was one strategy but.....
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipKRl_w4V2jfc9dBo25AclRuhUvOrO4S5OLKvjAXlHIR6b32PuLnh6mXQzGTmLkYAvVdJ_aMrV_4PMf8_DHP017_RAJPio_8QwR9OBr5UyMBnbhTPZCBvZI5jdeYoFl-yKP33DMpUTDko/s640/DSC06103_edited-1.jpg)
....still they crowded the bubble-maker and popped them too soon.

It was time to draw an actual "line in the sand."
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisTwgw7GV8VFfY95RJveJsMJo7z5RUQ864-DJJtsXYiyKUems0cnohrSoMgk0B26UCA_frLrQ8dKWgS7Xct6jj2qG0LeW7FOM2XlIkZ-niWnRjlGsn0twtXqbF7FzqMToRlPdmtfJC7JY/s640/DSC06130_edited-1.jpg)
They embraced the concept, a game within the game, do not cross the line, wait for the bubbles to come to you. Mostly, it worked although their excitement was hard to contain.

This young man was especially enjoying the whole bubble experience. And he decided he could go around the end of the line - he complied with the letter of the law if not the spirit.

He stayed on playing even when his friends wandered away for a time.

I liked the reflections in this whale shaped bubble.

If the wind changed direction, the kids would stretch as far as they could trying to pop the bubble but - the line in the sand held.

The fading light turned out to be a challenge in capturing these images but.......

......I like the results of the even, shadowless light.

The bubble kids weren't the only ones enjoying the early evening.

Grandkids of a club member were also willing models.

Some of the adults found jumping in unison to be a fun activity. "Unison" being a relative term.

A perfect end to a warm summer day in late spring at Plymouth Beach. But the fun wasn't over.......

...... there were even more cool photo ops for the adults as the light faded and the full moon rose over the Manomet Hills. Like this light painting example using a light sabre to paint the circles and a blue flashlight to trace the outline during a long shutter exposure. You astute regular readers may notice the subject is none other than a hatless Shadowman serving as the model. (Image credit: Amy Davies).
Life is good in America's Hometown: Plymouth, Massachusetts.
