Late Afternoon Sun, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy

The Tuscan light - it slices through the air with a golden brilliance - here, the late afternoon Lucca sun. A time to be out and about, walking yourself and your four-legged friends. (Porta dei Borghi).

My destination was north of the city wall (seen at left) to capture a nice image of the late sun through a row of plane trees.

I have always enjoyed these rows of plane trees planted a generation ago by some forward thinking planners.

It is simply a beautiful spot to see, to walk, to ride, to be.

And the image converts pleasantly to black and white with some added infrared enhancement which turns the green grass a whiter shade of pale.  It is not snow. Snow is for elsewhere.
