"A Midsummer Night's Dream," Final Dress Rehearsal, Priscilla Beach Theatre, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) recently completed the last of five shows in the 2016 Children's Summer Workshop Series with a production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." This classic tale features the Shakespearean comedy with a mix of magic and merriment.

This production was directed by Ross Magnant.  Ross, an accomplished performer in his own right, also served this summer as the Stage Manager for both main summer shows on the Barn Stage, "A Chorus Line," and "It Happened on the Way to the Forum."

The Children's Summer Workshop Series is produced by Bob and Sandy Malone, owners and guardians of PBT. The following images are in order of occurrence in the show. PBT will produce one more children's show this year in late October, "Music Man Jr," also to be directed by Ross Magnant.

PBT's website describes it as follows:

"Master showman Harold Hill is in town and he's got "seventy-six trombones" in tow. Can upright, uptight Marian, the town librarian, resist his powerful allure?

The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize. The catch? He doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, whose belief in Harold's power just might help him succeed in the end in spite of himself.

Based on Meredith Willson's six-time-Tony-Award-winning musical comedy, The Music Man JR. features some of musical theatre's most iconic songs and a story filled with wit, warmth and good old-fashioned romance. The Music Man JR. is family entertainment at its best - a bold, brassy show that will have the whole town atwitter! "
