Beach Walk, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

I always approach the edge of the bluff with anticipation. Is the tide in or out? is the wind light or strong? is the wind cold or hot? is the visibility good or poor? Sometimes I'll sit a spell on the split log bench at right and consider.

Regardless the conditions, it is always dramatically beautiful. The sounds of the surf and the plaintive cries of gulls are occasionally interrupted by the bark of a distant seal lying on a rock.

But now, boats are out of the water and safely stowed on land until next spring/summer.

Sometimes the low tide is really low.

On this day, as the clouds rolled in, the gaps created a few spots where the sun's rays highlight and brighten the breaking waves.

Reflections at low tide on the flat beach - processed into a black and white only image.

Yes, it is starting to look and feel like winter is coming.
