With the warm weather this summer in New England, White Horse Beach was often crowded with visitors seeking a respite from the heat - human and animal alike.
Muscle power or wind power - both are delightfully quiet activities.
Standing on one of the many White Horse Rocks just off the beach is popular for hanging out as the tide comes in.
The pair above at left brought their German Shepard dog out to stand on the rock with them.
And speaking of rocks, this big rock a few blocks inland from the beach periodically gets repainted by the newest generation of kids. It's nice to see a new generation embrace the "peace" sign. The origin of the symbol was in the late 1950's as the logo for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and subsequently became the symbol for anti-war activists in the United States and elsewhere starting in the 1960's. Now you know.
Hi Joe, The rock with all the kids is/was called "table" and the one with the German Shepard was called, I believe, buffalo (due to the humps). Keep shooting!
