Rue Cler, 7th Arrondissement, Paris, Île-de-France, France

On the day we visited the Eiffel Tower, our intent was to stay all day through dark to photograph the lights. It was time for food. A ten-minute walk away is a pedestrian-only street, Rue Cler, filled with produce markets, flower markets, meat markets, restaurants, bistros, bars......you get the idea.  

Although it is winter and cold here, it is seldom below freezing so flowers and produce are quite at home out in the fresh air - nature's refrigerator.

The flowers don't know the difference between a florist's refrigerator and the cold Paris air. Cold is relative - it's mostly been in the 40's F here during the days - not very cold by Boston standards - but good, active, walk-alot-weather in Paris.

Many different shops to choose from on this street.

And just like in the United States, everyone has and is often using their cellphone.

Every time I look in a mirror, I see this odd Frenchman-wannabe looking back at me. People think I'm French until I open my mouth and butcher their beautiful language.

We had an excellent late afternoon lunch at an outdoor bistro - yes, outdoors. And yes, that's more red wine with lunch. When in France.......... Lunch was a Tartine Végétarienne with salad. Bon appétit! And then back to the tower for nightfall.
