Blandy-les-Tours, Île-de-France, France

Blandy-les-Tours, a small village east of Melun, (about 45km/ 27 mi southeast of Paris), has a beautiful 13th/14th century medieval architecture castle as a centerpiece. The round foreground object is an old millstone/grinder.

The mood this structure helps create on a cloudy/stormy day made me keep looking around for knights on horseback to ride in, lances extended at the ready.

Unfortunately, we did not go in as the castle was closed that day.

A view toward the castle from just inside the nearby church entrance door.

Traditional French architecture on surrounding houses.
