"Tuesdays with Morrie," Priscilla Beach Theatre, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

"Tuesdays with Morrie," is now onstage at Priscilla Beach Theater (PBT) with performances on July 11, 12, 13, and 18, 19, 20. It is a beautiful story of love, loss, hope, friendship, aging, dying, and redemption as told by Mitch Albom based on a series of meetings with his former college professor Morrie Schwartz. In this stage version of the 1997 bestseller by Mitch Albom, the role of Morrie is played by PBT's own Creative Director Emeritus Geronimo Sands (above at left), the role of Mitch is played by Boston area actor Cliff Blake (above at right), and the director is Conni DiLego. The two-person cast delivers a powerful and emotionally satisfying performance of the uplifting story about the former student and professor and the regular meetings between the two as Morrie's health steadily declined into death from the disease ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as "Lou Gehrig's disease).

Here are a few images, in chronological order of performance, from the show.

Please support our local community theatre by attending this show and enjoying the outstanding and heartfelt rendering these two actors bring to the stage. The intimate setting of PBT's black box theatre (seats about 60) creates a close physical and emotional connection between audience and performers not achieved in a larger venue. You can contact PBT at this link or call 508-224-4888 for reservations/tickets - you'll be glad you did!
