Greek Parade, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

I was in Boston on this day to attend a musical performance elsewhere in town and just happened upon the 19th annual Greek Independence Day Parade while walking to the venue.  Nice sights and sounds of proud and happy people. I wish I could have stayed and watched for a longer time.

I observed a wide range of colorful and not-so-colorful attire.

Many folks waved both American and Greek flags.

There is probably no better place for a youngster to enjoy a parade than perched on top of daddy's shoulders.

These men are members of the ceremonial Presidential Guard, or Evzones, and are wearing the ceremonial uniform.

Perhaps aspirations of being an Evzoni someday?

The Boston Police motorcycle brigade led the parade on the city streets.
