A World Away from New England, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA

St. Petersburg, Florida, has the distinction of claiming to be one of the sunniest locations in the U.S.  It's also somewhat derisively referred to as, "God's waiting room," based on its reputation as an old people magnet. Say what you will about old people but, they have lifetimes of experience and wisdom and if "they" like St. Pete who am I to argue.

This local was hanging out downtown on a sunrise walk (me in shorts and t-shirt).

The downtown marina at sunrise.

Yes, the grass is that green in February.

A random flower in bloom.

My jetBlue flight from Boston to Tampa embraced the Boston sports obsession with this painted green Boston Celtics tribute aircraft.

The ambiance of a 1930's Florida hotel lobby (the Hollander) is a great place to stay in the downtown area.
