The Tall Ship, "Lynx," Plymouth Harbor, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

The sailing vessel, "Lynx," recently made its way to Plymouth for a few days to visit and offer dockside tours. "Lynx" is a square topsail schooner based in Nantucket, Massachusetts. The vessel is a modern interpretation of an American ship of the same name from 1812.

Although the sails had been lowered before coming into view, the cannons were still operational. No doubt to the surprise and delight of the folks on the boat at right.

A full range of nautical themes - at left the Pilgrim Belle, at right the Captain John's ferry boat to Provincetown across the bay, the Lynx at center, elsewhere the random summer fleet tied to their respective buoys.

The "Lynx" approaches the Town Pier for docking....

.....then makes some final close-in maneuvering to align for landing......

.....and fires one last cannon blast! Welcome to Plymouth.
