Out and About, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Most anytime I go downtown in Plymouth, I try to swing by the Spire Center for Performing Arts to see if it is looking particularly photogenic that day. This time, it was - trees leafing out, a dramatic cloud-studded sky, and a VW bug passing by at just the right moment. My first car was a used 1966 red VW bug. If I remember correctly, I paid $400 for it (which I could barely afford). I wish I still owned it.

The Spire website says, "tremendous acoustics, sightlines, and an architecturally beautiful interior are The Spire’s trademark. The 225-seat performance hall features superior acoustics, custom state of the art lighting and sound systems and original period architectural details offering patrons an exceptional performing arts experience."

That is certainly true from my experience but, the exterior needs a bit of tender loving care now. They have embarked on a fund-raising campaign to do just that. If you want to help, go to their website and click on the Donate tab. The Spire is a non-profit organization.

Flowers are busting out everywhere in their annual show of beauty.

The famous Plymouth Rock lives under this classic portico on the waterfront in downtown Plymouth.

More flowers......

And a few miles south of downtown Plymouth at Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT), the performing arts jewel of southeastern Massachusetts, they just completed an eight performance run of, "Heathers - the Musical," and are in rehearsal for a fourteen performance run of, "Hairspray." Here's a link to my recent posts about "Heathers" if you missed it. Here's a link to PBT for more info or tickets.

And nearby PBT, an incoming tide at White Horse and Priscilla Beaches.

Life is pretty spectacular this time of year in the greater Plymouth area!
