"Persephone's Daughters," Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

I recently had the opportunity to visit and capture a few moments from a rehearsal of the women’s chorus from Plymouth, "Persephone’s Daughters." They performed their spring concert, "Instructions in Joy," on Sunday, May 19, at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Duxbury. Lynne Wilkinson is the Founder and Director of the group.

"Since 2000, Persephone's Daughters has been performing heartfelt song while building a strong community of women and supporting social justice causes. Our music is taught in the oral tradition, making it accessible to those who consider themselves singers as well as non-singers. We welcome new voices at the beginning of each season. To audition, contact Lynne Wilkinson at 508-747-0212. Rehearsals for our Spring concerts begin in January, and for our Fall concerts in August." (Source: Persephone's Daughters website).

Few sounds on the earth are more beautiful and joyous than those of human voices raised together in song..........

.....and accomplished piano accompaniment helps, too!

Support live performing arts in our community or, wherever you may live in the world.
