Missing Sand, White Horse Beach, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

At low tide on a cloudy and dramatic sky day, some of the after-effects of last winter's storms are evident. Much of the sand was scoured out from the coastline by the brutal wind and waves.

Where once there was sand, now a band of cobble bridges the gap between the tide line and the dunes. In due time, nature will recover as she always does. In the meantime, it is still a beautiful place on the planet.

  1. I think the town of Plymouth should be replacing it! This is a public beach.
