Clements' Marketplace Opening, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

I don't think I've ever attended a grocery store opening before. Never had a strong reason or desire - until today. About six months ago, the only full service grocery store serving the village of Manomet closed its doors. But today, we welcomed Clements' Marketplace to fill that role for the citizens of and visitors to Manomet.

They held an opening day bash that looked like this........

Locals lined up by the dozens for the opening ceremony and to welcome this new business to town.

Company executives did a little bit of speechifying.........

......and voila!.... the ribbon was cut and the doors were opened to the happy throng.

Fresh produce is the welcoming display........

....and shoppers were quick to fill their carts.

Since I subscribe to the vegan lifestyle, diet, and philosophy, I am always happy to see alternative products offered for sale that are not based on the killing or exploitation of animals - like this non-dairy almond "milk."

And this non-dairy "butter."  And many other products throughout the store.

Judging by the opening crowds in the aisles and at the registers, I think that Clements' Marketplace will be a success for both the residents and the business operator.

I sure hope so! Support our local businesses and welcome this new one to town.
