This is the residential street that leads directly to the entrance to Cascadilla gorge. (It's directly behind me as I stand making this image).

The last time I was here, the trail alongside the creek was still closed for the winter but, today, it was open!

And the recent rains had filled the waterway with a boiling froth of whitewater.

It wasn't really warm enough for me to be in a t-shirt and shorts but, these young folks didn't seem to mind the chill in the air.

Construction of the waterside stone stairs dates back to the Civilian Conservation Corp era in the 1930's.

This photographer had brought in his tripod and other equipment to try to get images of the water blurred in motion. He had neutral density filters to allow a slow shutter speed even in the bright midday sunlight.
