"Barn Show," Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

The Barn Show Music Series is now in its fourth summer season of providing live music on the rolling hills of Holmes Farm in Manomet. It was another perfect summer evening to enjoy the outstanding musicians that promoter/organizer Hayley Sabella booked for the event. (Click on an image for a higher resolution view if your device supports that action).

According to Barn Show's website, "Hayley Sabella is a singer-songwriter / local farmer / earnest truth-seeker / independent woman / dork, who originally did her thing in her hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts and is now doing her thing in other places, too. Her debut full-length album King Solomon was released in April 2014."

Holmes farm isn't just for edibles - they have some mighty fine flowers, too!

"Holmes Farm is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm located on the Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences grounds, and grows organic cranberries, blueberries, and operates a fully stocked farm stand.

The Edible Yard is dedicated to bringing local food to the marketplace and promoting a humane, sustainable agriculture system for the South Shore region. The Edible Yard and Holmes Farm operate a farm business on land owned by, and work collaboratively with, Manomet Center For Conservation Sciences. Manomet’s mission is to conserve natural resources for the benefit of wildlife and human populations. Through research and collaboration, Manomet builds science-based, cooperative solutions to environmental problems." Source: barnshowmanomet.com

But on with the show.......Sam Moss was the lead off performer........

........followed by The Wolff Sisters.

The shadows grew longer and the anticipation built for the headliner act.....

......Chris Ross and the North.

As the evening deepened......

....the young folks took over the area directly in front of the stage to dance, cartwheel, and just generally carry-on with delight in front of the band and the audience. It's that kind of venue - kids, dogs, adults just having a great time listening to top quality live music.

There is just nothing better than listening to top quality live music, outdoors, on a perfect New England evening.

Thanks to Hayley Sabella and her team for bringing this great event, "Barn Show," to Manomet. I think I've been to all of them and blogged about most of them. Here's a link to previous blog posts.

The final two shows this season are on August 19th and September 2nd - mark your calendars and plan to come out and enjoy!  Tickets are available online or on site. Support this local event so it can continue in the future.
