Blue Hour, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy
Normally, I think of the golden Tuscan light as the special highlight around here. There is also, however, the lovely blue hour to enjoy. On this crystal clear evening as the blue hour deepened, the nightly restaurant/bar business begins. Dinner is still a while away since few places begin serving before 7:30 pm. The Church of San Frediano, looming in the background, has been here for more than two thousand years; this most recent construction was comlpeted in the 1100's. (Piazza San Frediano).
The nightly foot traffic on the main high end shopping street of Via Fillungo is a bit sparse on this chilly evening. Winter nights have been dipping down to around 40 degrees F.
Whether cold, hot, light, or dark - Lucca always delights.
