Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival, South End, Boston, Massachusetts, USA
A perfect fall day welcomed the annual Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival to Columbus Avenue in the South End of Boston for an afternoon of rousing top-quality live music on the street.
A section of Columbus Avenue is closed off for vendor tents and to accommodate two of the three performance stages for this annual cultural landmark event.
The weather was about as perfect as it could be.
Thousands of folks turned out to enjoy the live music and beautiful day.
This vendor whacked the ends off the coconuts, inserted a straw and sold them.
Or, perhaps you'd prefer a non-alcoholic piƱa colada.
Fried dough? No thanks.
One of the two stages on Columbus Avenue.
Berklee College of Music, the event producer, had staff filming the performances.
The third performance stage was on this adjacent athletic field and the audience was able to settle in and relax if they had the foresight to bring folding chairs.
Of course, you could sit on the grass or stand if you didn't bring a chair.
There was a nearby "instrument petting zoo" for the young folks to see and/or try out many different types of musical instruments.
This view is from the Berklee Stage on Columbus Avenue looking out at the audience.
Nice suit!
This Brazilian percussionist and his fellow drummers are always popular with the street crowd.
In case you have a desire to look like a duck - here's the opportunity.
I prefer the look of this dapper dude sporting a classic men's straw boater.
Two of the Boston police detail on duty for the event seemed to enjoy their work assignment for this peaceful, friendly, musical celebration.
Life is good in the world-class city of Boston!
