A Broadway Musical Review, Outdoor Pavilion, Priscilla Beach Theatre, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

When the actors and actresses on the Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) campus have a day off from performing what do they do? Well, of course, they create their own show and perform anyway!

Actress Allie Seibold put together many of the cast members for this event, had them sing some of their favorite show tunes, and became the official producer for her efforts. In the above image, PBT Co-owner and guardian Bob Malone, introduces Allie to the audience.

This was the inaugural performance of the recently completed PBT Outdoor Pavilion.

This performance was conceived and executed quickly. The announcement went out last week, and in just a few hours last Saturday, 150 lucky patrons grabbed up the limited tickets for this performance.

It was an absolutely perfect summer evening in Priscilla Beach for everyone to come together for an hour or so of delightful entertainment. The mood was light, the performers relaxed, and they were comfortable breaking the fourth wall with the audience. To me, it felt more like a bunch of folks getting together in their family room to make beautiful music just because they had the talent and they could.

As you have seen in their performances this summer in "A Chorus Line" and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," these young men and women are extraordinarily talented singers, dancers, and actors/actresses and this informal event gave them another opportunity to share their talents with an appreciative crowd.

After the last number, the crowd mills about and visits with the performers.

Here's a close-up of the sign on the Barn you've been seeing in the background of many of these images. The barn began its life 140+ years ago as an animal barn on a working farm. Next time you're in there, you might look up at the ceiling above the left rear of the audience area. There is an original beam that the horses chewed on more than 100 years ago.

Darkness settles in after a wonderful summer evening of live music at PBT.

It's a tough path these performers have chosen. They have spent their short lives so far taking dance and voice lessons as kids, performing in school and neighborhood plays, studying theatre in school and then at college or university. They are primed and ready and delight in the opportunity that PBT has afforded them to showcase their talents on the big stage.

Not only does PBT provide them an outlet, it provides us in the community with a precious resource to be able to see and experience their performing art. Come out to PBT and support this remarkable place.  "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" is running now, to be followed by "Arsenic and Old Lace" in September, and "First Date" in October.

Season tickets for next summer go on sale December 1. (Individual ticket sales will follow a few days later).

Here's the lineup for Summer 2017:

"The Marvelous Wonderettes" in May,
"Nunsense" in June,
"West Side Story" in July,
"The Producers" in August,
"All Shook Up" in September, and
"Little House of Horrors" in October.

Demand is high and tickets sell quickly. Contact PBT at this link or by phone at 508-224-4888 for more information.
