"A Chorus Line," Priscilla Beach Theatre, Priscilla Beach, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

I left my camera at home, put on regular people clothes, and Amy and I went to Priscilla Beach Theatre (PBT) last night to see "A Chorus Line" as just a regular Joe in the audience. (These images are from the final dress rehearsal a couple weeks ago that I published in an earlier blog - click on the image for a sharper, bigger version. Also, here's a link to another post with more show images of the cast in singles and smaller groups).

It was a such a treat to just sit and be, and allow the show to transport me to another world. What a great production that Bob and Sandy Malone have created. The cast was flat-out extraordinary!

To have seen the collection of cast and crew that Director Emily Maltby started with a few short weeks ago when rehearsals began, and now sit and enjoy what they all wrought together is absolutely theatre magic.  I guess to a hardcore theatre-goer it is standard fare but, to me, a regular Joe, it is unbelievable that all these people, cast and crew, can put something like this together in such short order.

I was so moved and transported by their powerful performance.  Yes, much credit goes to the script - there is a reason it ran for more than 6000 shows on Broadway back in the day but, still, it takes the passion and talent and skill of the team of producers, performers, staff, and musicians to pull it all together for prime time.

As I've said before, I am neither an experienced theatre-goer nor a critic but, once again, Priscilla Beach Theatre has dazzled me with the quality and beauty of their work.  I can't wait to see more!
