Steady Progress - Neighborhood Home Renovation Project, Manomet, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA
The major framing work is approaching completion. Soon, the men will start on the finish details.
Interior view from the first floor looking out at Cape Cod Bay.
Interior view of the first floor. Like they say in real estate, it's about location, location, location. The exposed rocks at low tide in the bay are often covered with lounging harbor seals.
I have been told but have not been able to independently verify that in days gone by, there was enough land between the house and the bluff edge for a tennis court. Some serious erosion has occurred over the past 100+ years.
Inspired by the men building the house, my own construction project on the beach is also making progress. (The little black rectangle is a cellphone for scale). It was really difficult stacking the big, heavy rocks on the bottom but, I'm really strong for an old man.........
