Swan Boats, Public Garden, Boston, Massachusetts, USA

The iconic pedal-powered swan boats have been cruising the lagoon in the Boston Public Garden since 1877.

The men and women pilots/operators sit astride the swan at the stern of the pontoon boat and pedal and steer around the lagoon.

It is a popular and wonderfully quiet activity.

And the lagoon is not just for swan boats.

Docking after a trip around the lagoon.
