Being A Reader, Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo, Riviera Maya, Mexico

One of the pleasures of taking a vacation is reading.  Usually, I find good books randomly in condos or hotels or trading with other travelers. Otherwise, books are generally too heavy and bulky to pack and bring from home. Once a good book is at hand, a chaise lounge in a peaceful, shady, outdoors, light breeze location makes a good reading spot. Amy demonstrates above.

I liked the mirrored angles of the chair legs and human legs in this image.

Being on a chaise allows the elbows to be supported and the book level with the eyes. That position also allows you to glance around discreetly when something (or more likely someone) catches your eye walking by.

All that being said, maybe it's best to just say the heck with a chaise lounge and lie down on the sand in the slanting rays of a late afternoon sun with the sound of the waves lapping the shore.
