Joe - we enjoy reading your blog! Good job with the photos and comments. I guess that storm yesterday was one of the "nortes" mentioned in the Wiki article on the Yucatan? "Strong storms called nortes can quickly descend on the Yucatán Peninsula any time of year. Gordon, Glad you enjoy the blog, thanks for your comment. I don't know what it was since my ability to obtain detailed focused real time weather information here is challenged. They seem to move in from the east but that might just be the low level surface condition. I miss the constantly updated weather info available in the US. This year, unlike last year, it has showered hard every day for the past 5 days - heavy intense tropical monsoon type. Some preceded by a gust front, some just begin with a light trickle and intensify quickly falling straight down. I'd rather have sun but, these downpours are pretty cool, too.
