Beach Life, Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

It is sometimes better to be lucky than good.  Today was overcast for a few hours but, late in the day, a few bright slanting rays of  sun broke through the clouds to spotlight just a few areas creating this striking effect.  I was lucky to catch it.

Earlier in the day, I stood transfixed listening to and watching this scene. All these folks on a beautiful afternoon, enjoying the day, the beach, the breeze, each other, the live music - families with kids and dogs, vendors wandering about selling fresh fruits or sweets. So alive and taking pleasure in the moment - neither electricity nor high-tech devices required.

Legs and feet and toes relaxing on the beach.

A simple fishing boat awaiting the daily ritual. This is a working man's fishing boat as compared to a tourist boat - the tourist boats always have an awning of some sort to sit under.
